Whether you are in the early stages of your career or stepping up to manage team members\, this course is tailored to assist you in further developing your communication and time management abilities. \nWhether you work in production office or as crew\, you understand first-hand how crucial it is to communicate clearly\, and to effectively manage your time. Effective communication is essential\, especially when conveying complex messages and managing regular changes. Proper time management ensures that projects run smoothly and efficiently\, minimizing delays and maximizing productivity. \nThis course aims to support 20 HETV professionals in enhancing their communication and time management strategies. The course is broken down into a series of modules covering different aspects of communication and time management. \nThe training style is interactive with scenarios and role plays\, alongside taught materials. The modules will cover: \nCommunication StylesPrioritisationDelegationGiving and Receiving FeedbackNegotiation SkillsDealing with Difficult PeopleMotivation through CommunicationSelf and team careApplications Closed The course is open to those living and/or regularly working in Northern Ireland who have a minimum of one years’ professional experience and at least one HETV production team credit. \nThis course is free to attend. \nPlease note that the duration of this training is split across two days and will take place in-person in Belfast. Eligible applicants will already be living and/or working in Northern Ireland so participants will be responsible for arranging their travel to and from the venue and\, if necessary\, any accommodation. In order to make this course accessible to the widest possible audience\, there is some limited support available to contribute to these costs. Evidence of hardship will be requested. \n \nWHO IS THE COURSE FOR?\nWHO IS THE COURSE FOR?  \nThis training course is aimed at those who are working in the production office or as part of crew in HETV. You will have a minimum of one year's experience and could be working in any HETV department. \nWe also wish to encourage those looking to return to work following a career break who have HETV experience and would like to refresh their skills and knowledge. \nCOURSE DATES\nThe training will take place in person over a weekend. Attendees must be available for both days of training. \n\nMonday\, 8th January 2024: 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm\nTuesday\,  9th January 2024: 9:30 am – 4:00 pm\n\nTraining will take place in a Central Belfast location. \nCOURSE OUTLINE\nCOURSE OUTLINE\nPrior to attending all participants will be expected to have completed ScreenSkills e-learning modules in: \n\nTackling bullying and harassment\nMental health awareness\nInclusive hiring\nUnconscious bias\n\nBY THE END OF THE COURSE...\nBy the end of the 2-day course participants will have developed their communication and time management strategies and feel more confident to use them in the workplace. They will have a series of strategies and tactics\, as well as a padlet of useful resources\, that they can deploy in different situations including: \n\nAn understanding of different communication styles and why this matters in communications\nPrioritisation strategies\nEnhanced time management tactics\nConfidence to delegate without micromanaging\nStrategies for giving feedback and bad news\nConfidence to negotiate effectively with suppliers and crew\nRecognising challenging behaviours and how to deal with them\nRecognising when you and/or your team need support\n\nCOURSE TUTORS\nThis course is delivered by Film and TV Industry Professionals and sector experts\nAlison Grade | Course Director\nAlison runs Mission Accomplished and regularly delivers training for ScreenSkills. She is an experienced Line Producer and Production Manager as well as a Nesta Accredited Creative Enterprise Trainer. She regularly delivers training that enables creatives to take their careers to the next level. \n\nAddie Orfila | Course Tutor \nAddie has extensive production experience spanning over 25 years including ITV\, All3Media and BBC. Starting as a trainee\, Addie worked her way up as 3rd AD\, 1st AD\, PM and Head of Production. She has worked on all four of the big UK serial dramas and was HoP at Hollyoaks and Production Manager at Coronation Street. Having worked on shows such as Heartbeat\, Touch of Frost\, Countdown\, My Parents are Aliens\, Emmerdale\, Barking and Jinx\, Addie has a wealth of experience to draw from\, is a mentor for Women in Film and Television\, was a member of Channel 4's Mentoring Diversity Network as well as trainer on the pan-industry Project Diamond Diversity monitoring scheme. As a Development Producer\, your approach and thinking needs to develop as you begin to lead a team and take on significant extra responsibility for winning commissions and keeping the production pipeline flowing. \nLed by expert development consultant\, Sophie Morgan\, with guest speaker sessions from a range of exciting industry experts\, this training course is designed to: \n\nEquip you with innovative tools and knowledge to develop commission-winning ideas. \n\nOffer practical and actionable leadership and management strategies to build a vibrant and motivated and resilient creative team. \n\nBuild your confidence in taking on a new challenge and thriving in a Development Producer role. \nFollowing the training\, each participant will be matched with an industry expert mentor for a six-month mentoring relationship (approximately 1 hour per month). \nThe course is open to a total of 30 people and will run twice with two cohorts of 15 people. On applying\, you will be asked to confirm your availability for the fixed dates and you are expected to be available for the duration of your chosen set. \nTo attend this training programme\, there is a fee of £250 + VAT (£300 inclusive of VAT)\, payable upon acceptance to the course. For freelancers self-funding the training and those not currently on contract with a production company\, we can support up to 50% of participants with FREE bursary places on this training. \n If you would like to apply for a bursary please check the bursary box on the application form. \n \nPlease note this training is in a hybrid format\, with approximately 50% delivered live online and 50% live in-person in Birmingham.
