The course will provide you with the tools you need to seek opportunities\, return with confidence\, work successfully as a freelancer\, and re-build a sustainable career in HETV.   \nThe course is taught by Alison Grade and Sarah Mccaffrey who are both experienced industry trainers. In addition to the training course there are up to 6 funded placements available for eligible participants.  \nBy the end of this course\, participants will have the knowledge and confidence to return to HETV.  \nWe are looking to help people who: \n\nHave been out of the screen industries for 9+ months \n\nHave previous track record working in scripted TV (approx. 3+ years) with some experience within HETV \nAre looking to gain insight into the current HETV workplaceAre wanting to rebuild confidenceAre looking to reconnect and rebuild networksAre preparing or thinking about returning to work in HETVWant to make work\, work for themIf you are thinking about returning to HETV following a break from TV and you work in a craft or tech department but not sure where to start then this course is for you.  \n Applications will be assessed on a rolling basis.  \nWe welcome applications from all individuals\, if you would like support completing the application form and/or would like us to send it to you in an alternative format please email:  training@mission.guru.  \n  \n Delivery team  Our Funders This training is supported by the ScreenSkills High-end TV Skills Fund with contributions from UK high-end TV productions. \nWHO IS THE COURSE FOR?\nThis Return to work programme is designed to assist experienced craft and tech freelancers in the industry looking to return to work after a career break and provide them with the tools they need to seek opportunities\, return with confidence\, work successfully as a freelancer\, and re-build a sustainable career in HETV.  \nThe sessions will be highly interactive\, and all participants will be encouraged to contribute to the discussions. Reflection time will also be included within the sessions to cement learning.  \nThis programme is aimed to help those who have:  \n\n\nCostume \nHair and Make-up \nArt department \nLocations \nCameras \nSound \n\n\nWe will be looking to recruit 12 participants from across the following grades:  \n\n\nBeen out of the screen industries for 9+ months \nprevious track record working in scripted TV (approx. 3+ years) with some experience in HETV \n\n\nCOURSE DATES\nThis course will be fully online both group sessions and individual 1-2-1 coaching sessions. The training is designed to suit all levels within development teams and will include specific breakouts for Heads of Development.  \nThe summits are running 5 times between February and June 2023 across the UK nations and regions. All summits will be delivering the same content. Attendees are recommended to book the summit closest to their location.  \nThe summits will be taking place in these locations on the following dates (precise venues TBC): \nEngland: Leeds 27 – 28 February 2023 Wales: Cardiff 13 – 14 March 2023Scotland: Glasgow 11 – 12 May 2023 Northern Ireland: Belfast 22 – 23 May 2023 England: London 5 – 6 June 2023 The two-day programme will be split into a series of short sessions covering 3 distinct themes:  \n\nTheme 1: Ideation\, Briefs and Pitching \nTheme 2: Commercial awareness \nTheme 3: Professional skills (with a focus on Heads of Development and Senior team members) \n\nA key theme across the entire training programme will be changing the narrative on and off-screen and how these can be embedded across all areas\, at all stages.   \nThe two-day programme will also include a Commissioning Editor Q&A which will be an opportunity to hear from a commissioner in-person in a structured Q&A format.  \nOn the middle evening of the training programme there will be a social event where attendees can connect and network informally to build relationships.   \nThis programme is heavily supported and subsidised by the ScreenSkills Unscripted TV Skills Fund which invests in training for the unscripted workforce thanks to contributions from broadcasters\, SVoDs and production companies.  \nThere is a cost to production companies to attend this training programme. We have worked hard to keep the costs as low as possible and have early bird rates available for those who book more than one month in advance of £125 + VAT per person and a 3 for 2 ticket offer.  \nWe also have a number of bursary places available for emerging production companies and freelancers. The training is designed to suit all levels within development teams and will include specific breakouts for Heads of Development.  \nThe summits are running 5 times between February and June 2023 across the UK nations and regions. All summits will be delivering the same content. Attendees are recommended to book the summit closest to their location.  \nThe summits will be taking place in these locations on the following dates (precise venues TBC): \nEngland: Leeds 27 – 28 February 2023 Wales: Cardiff 13 – 14 March 2023Scotland: Glasgow 11 – 12 May 2023 Northern Ireland: Belfast 22 – 23 May 2023 England: London 5 – 6 June 2023 The two-day programme will be split into a series of short sessions covering 3 distinct themes:  \n\nTheme 1: Ideation\, Briefs and Pitching \nTheme 2: Commercial awareness \nTheme 3: Professional skills (with a focus on Heads of Development and Senior team members) \n\nA key theme across the entire training programme will be changing the narrative on and off-screen and how these can be embedded across all areas\, at all stages.   \nThe two-day programme will also include a Commissioning Editor Q&A which will be an opportunity to hear from a commissioner in-person in a structured Q&A format.  \nOn the middle evening of the training programme there will be a social event where attendees can connect and network informally to build relationships.   \nThis programme is heavily supported and subsidised by the ScreenSkills Unscripted TV Skills Fund which invests in training for the unscripted workforce thanks to contributions from broadcasters\, SVoDs and production companies.  \nThere is a cost to production companies to attend this training programme. We have worked hard to keep the costs as low as possible and have early bird rates available for those who book more than one month in advance of £125 + VAT per person and a 3 for 2 ticket offer.  \nWe also have a number of bursary places available for emerging production companies and freelancers.
