DESCRIPTION:Are you a scripted producer with experience in short films\, micro-budget features\, TV drama or commercials – and ready to make the move into industry-financed scripted feature films? This intensive two-day course is designed to help you take that next step. \n About this course  The First-Time Feature Film Producers Training (Scripted) course equips you with the practical knowledge and insight needed to produce narrative feature films at an industry-financed level.   \nThis training covers everything from packaging and finance to sales strategy and positioning – giving you the tools and confidence to move your project forward. During this training you will learn:  \nHow to package yourself\, your creative team and your project effectively for industry partnersTo understand the producer’s role in achieving a greenlightTo navigate film finance — including types of funding\, financial terminology and the cost of moneyHow to identify and access regional funding opportunitiesHow to build a finance plan and understand recoupment structuresTo Interpret sales estimates and understand the role of a sales agentTo Confidently position your project to potential partners and financiersGlasgowGlasgowLiverpoolLiverpoolBristolBristol Who is this course for?  This course is aimed at:   \n\nProducers with credited experience in completed narrative shorts\,  \nProducer with credited experience in micro-budget scripted features\, \nProducers working in the commercials\, branded content and/or Music Video space (with evidence of narrative shorts work)\, \nAnd/or those who work in senior production roles (e.g. Line Producers\, Production Managers\, 1st ADs) in scripted TV drama)who are looking to transition into producing industry-financed narrative feature films. \n\nWe also welcome applications from producers returning to the industry following a career break\, with equivalent experience.  \nPriority will be given to producers based in the Nations and Regions outside of London and the M25.  \nFormat and Key dates\nFormat: Two-day in-person intensive training (09:30–17:30 each day)  \nThis course runs across three locations. She is a BAFTA\, RTS nominated and BIFA winning producer. Her recent feature films include sci-fi ‘Sky Peals’ (2024)\, made with writer/director Moin Hussain and backed by Film4\, BFI and Screen Yorkshire\, and ‘Retreat’ (2025)\, made with writer/director Ted Evans and backed by BFI\, BBC Film and Creative UK\, which premiered at TIFF this year. Over the last 16 years\, Michelle has worked on a plethora of projects from producing a micro-budget first feature that secured international theatrical distribution to developing a big-budget animation franchise with Aardman\, based on original IP sourced and developed by her. Michelle has a keen eye for international-level talent and has produced content that has screened in competition at A-list festivals such as Cannes\, SXSW\, LFF\, Tribeca and Venice and been bought by the BBC and Sky.  \nMichelle’s previous company\, Escape Films\, was a recipient of the BFI Vision Award.  \nJennifer Monks – Founder of The Fold– Lead Trainer  \n Jennifer Monks runs The Fold with Michelle Stein.  She is a BAFTA\, RTS and BIFA nominated producer. Hailing from Liverpool\, Jennifer’s past projects include producing a BAFTA nominated documentary for the BBC\, a BBC Culture in Quarantine drama and BIFA nominated single TV drama ‘To Know Him’ (Produced alongside business partner Michelle). Most recently she  produced ‘Retreat’ (2025) alongside Michelle Stein\, which premiered at TIFF as well as ‘The Fall Of Sir Douglas Weatherford’ from writer/director Sean Dunn which will launch in 2026.     \nJennifer has a wealth of production experience\, having Co-produced and Line Produced for some of the biggest and best indies in the UK. She has headed the production of multiple independent feature films for funders such as BBC Films\, BFI\, Film4\, A24\, Screen Scotland\, Netflix and Screen Yorkshire.  She Co-Produced 14 time BIFA-nominated ‘Scrapper’\, which won the World Cinema Dramatic Grand Jury prize at Sundance 2023 and was nominated for Outstanding British Film at the 2024 BAFTA’s. Most recently she co-produced Clio Barnard’s ‘I See Buildings Fall Like Lightening’.  \nJennifer’s previous company\, Pencil Trick\, was identified as one of the top 50 UK creative businesses by Creative England and was a recipient of a BFI Vision Award.  \n Delivered as a partnership between   Our Funders This training is supported by the ScreenSkills Film Skills Fund with contributions from UK Film productions. \nWe welcome applications from all individuals.
