About Mission Accomplished

Our team harnesses a rare mix of creative, academic, and business experience to help transform creative concepts into business realities.

Mission Accomplished’s CEO, Alison Grade, spent 15 years working at senior level in many media companies – predominantly in international television and film production, rights management and strategy – but she also has formal academic training and is a Nesta-accredited Creative Enterprise Trainer. She is also the author of the Penguin bestseller, The Freelance Bible.

She has built a team of seasoned TV and Film professionals who deliver courses that develop creative freelancers’ careers. We have worked with many leading industry organisations and universities to deliver training and with many businesses to help them turn creative ideas into business realities.

EXPERIENCE MATTERS

During her career Alison has produced over 7,000 minutes of film and television with a combined spend of over £20m. She has worked on documentaries, animation, drama, feature films, factual and entertainment productions on both high and low budgets.

Alison and her team also deliver one-to-one business support and group workshops to freelancers and entrepreneurs based on her book, The Freelance Bible.

To date we have assisted over 2,000 SMEs via these programmes.

CORE SKILLS

We work with freelancers at all stages.

Clients include universities and creative organisations – BBC Academy, Nottingham Trent University, Leeds Beckett, Middlesex University, Birmingham Ormiston Academy and Luminate Education Group.

Alison has a wealth of experience on the commercial exploitation of intellectual property rights in media content across a wide range of platforms through distribution and licensing having sold TV formats globally and negotiating other licencing deals.

In other words, Alison knows how to monetise content.

Her non-media experience includes founding Girls Angels, a motorcycle training school that specialised in training women – which she took from idea to profitable business to trade sale in under two years.

More recently she directed a highly successful business bringing hands-on media training into schools and has advised many other businesses – from startups to established, global players on media and marketing strategies.

Alison holds an MBA (Masters in Business Administration) from INSEAD (2001) and a Management Studies Degree from St John’s College, Cambridge (1992).

Alison currently splits her time between a young family in Birmingham, producing film and TV, several executive and non-executive directorships and is soon to publish a book on monetising creative ideas – and how to survive as a freelancer in the creative industries.
