We're incredibly proud to announce that Alison Grade, CEO of Mission Accomplished, has been named Inspirational Educator at this year's WMCA Adult Learning Awards.
But let’s be clear this isn’t just about Alison (though we won’t deny, it’s amazing). This is a massive win for freelancers everywhere, especially for those carving out their creative careers in the West Midlands.
It’s also a testament to the powerhouse team at Mission Accomplished a dedicated crew of trainers, mentors, coordinators, project managers, and industry professionals who work tirelessly behind the scenes to equip creatives with the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to thrive in the creative industries.
“This award isn’t just about me,” said Alison. “It’s for every learner who’s joined one of our Mission Accomplished programmes. You showed up, put in the work, and proved what’s possible when opportunity meets access.”
Alison continued:
“As someone proudly rooted in Birmingham, it means the world to champion the incredible creative talent in our region. Freelancers here are stepping up, shaping productions, and showing the industry that local talent delivers.”
Over the past three years, Alison has led two transformational programmes as Course Director:
Both programmes have seen remarkable success. Alumni have secured placements with Man Like Mobeen, Dice Productions, Manor Production, and most recently, at the Black Sabbath gig at Villa Park.
And the journey doesn't stop here. Looking ahead to September, we're excited to launch new opportunities for freelancers across the West Midlands with fresh training programmes and partnerships on the horizon.
