Learner Code of Conduct TV and Film Fusion: MasterChef Edition
This training course is part of the Create Central Skills Accelerator programme, supported by the BFI, awarding National Lottery funding, and The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA).

- Come ready to learn.
- Arrive on time for the start of the training.
- Ensure you can attend all training dates as described in the Learning Plan.
- Treat others with kindness and respect and listen to their opinions.
- Be mindful of the language that you use at all times.
- Have high expectations of each other.
- Take responsibility for your actions.
- Look after your own property and that belonging to Mission Accomplished.
- Avoid wearing clothing or accessories that may be interpreted as a political statement. This includes, but is not limited to, slogans, logos, or symbols that reference political parties, movements, or ideologies.
Protecting Learner Rights
We all have rights and responsibilities. Regardless of race, colour, creed, age, gender, personal challenges, physical abilities, location, or financial situation, we all share the same rights and responsibilities. Mission Accomplished aims to treat everyone with fairness and respect.
- All learners have a right to be treated fairly and kindly.
- All learners have a right to be treated as an individual in the room.
- All learners have a right to feel safe in the training room.
- All learners have a right to express feelings and opinions sensibly, without fear of interruption or ridicule, and to ask questions if needed.
- All learners have a right to be valued and respected.
Note: To maintain a safe learning environment, we reserve the right to deny entry or remove anyone we believe is under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Our teaching staff have the right to challenge unacceptable behaviour in the training room that affects the learning of others or challenges their role as instructors.
Aims of the Training
This TV and Film Fusion:
MasterChef Edition is designed to support those with no background in film and/or TV to transition into the West Midlands screen industries.
To help you achieve these aims, Mission Accomplished, together with our partners, will:
- Deliver an industry-led training programme.
- Prepare learners for the breadth of screen industries work in the West Midlands region, focusing on unscripted content.
- Use practical workshops to explore the different departments and processes involved in making unscripted content.
- Support learners in understanding the freelance nature of the screen industries.
- Prepare you to be ready to work in the WM screen industries.
- Provide networking and connecting opportunities with local screen industry companies and professionals.
- Offer employability support, including CVs and interviews.
- Provide ongoing employability support for six months following completion of the programme.
As a Learner, We Ask That You:
- Be punctual.
- Attend all scheduled training dates.
- Complete all e-learning modules and/or independent study assigned by tutors.
- Record any independent study on the learning portal.
- Make the most of the training and opportunities provided.
- Meet all deadlines and produce work to a professional standard.
Receiving Feedback
At Mission Accomplished, we recognise that feedback is an essential part of learning and growth. Regular feedback will be given throughout our courses. We encourage all learners to approach feedback with an open mind and a commitment to self-improvement.
- Listen Actively – Give full attention when receiving feedback, ensuring you understand the points being made before responding.
- Maintain a Growth Mindset – View feedback as an opportunity for development rather than as criticism. Constructive feedback is meant to support your progress.
- Stay Respectful and Professional – Respond to feedback with courtesy and professionalism, even if you disagree.
- Reflect Before Reacting – Take time to process feedback before responding. Ask questions if clarification is needed.
- Apply Feedback to Improve – Use feedback as a tool for continuous learning and skill enhancement.
- Seek Support When Needed – If feedback is unclear or difficult to apply, ask for guidance from tutors, peers, or mentors.
By embracing feedback with a positive and proactive attitude, we foster a learning environment that supports personal and professional growth for all.
On successful completion of the training course, you will be invited to add yourself to our database of successful learners, which we share with our partners and potential employers to support you in your next steps.
Attendance
Punctuality and full attendance are expected throughout this course. We reserve the right to terminate your place on the course due to lack of attendance.

Should you have any concerns for yourself or any other participants during the training period, please report directly to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) – you will be given their details upon commencement of this course.
