CALLING ALL UNSCRIPTED DEVELOPERS:

Mission Accomplished has just launched TWO new Screenskills’ Funded UNSCRIPTED DEVELOPMENT training courses, and there are plenty of ways for YOU to get involved.

Whether you’re a potential trainee, a company who could facilitate a placement or a development expert keen to mentor the next generation, we would love to hear from you.

Take a Development Researcher on placement

Our training will focus on getting our 60 trainees work-ready and each will be offered a placement within an unscripted development team for one month. We’re keen to hear from companies across all nations and regions of the UK who could facilitate placements.

The Unscripted Skills Fund will make a salary contribution of £1,300, paid directly to the host production company. A small contribution from the host company would be expected to top-up to at least the national living wage.

Our 60 trainees will train in three cohorts. They will be available to start placements on:

  • Course 1: 2nd January 2024
  • Course 2: 12th February 2024
  • Course 3: 22nd April 2024

We’d love it if you could take one person on placement, and if you feel you have capacity for more than one month during the programme that’s also possible.

All development researcher trainees will have been selected by Mission Accomplished and Development Exec, Perjit Aujla, through an application and interview process. They will also have completed a training programme which is designed to give them the essential skills required in a Development Researcher role. The aim during the placement is to put into practice what they’ve learned on the course!

Once we have trainees confirmed, we will work with host companies to match them up with an appropriate trainee.

Be a Mentor for a Stepping up Development Producer

The mentoring scheme is designed to support our participants as they seek to make the move up to Development Producer by pairing them with a senior development professional (execs, HODs etc.) over six months.

Over the engagement, for one hour monthly, the mentors will meet with and support one of our emerging Development Producers and offer their expert and guidance on the next steps.

Our participants will be selected and trained by Development Consultant, Sophie Morgan in a mixture of in-person and online training. They will be available to begin mentoring on:

  • Course 1: 4th December 2023
  • Course 2: 12th February 2024

*We have some budget to contribute to the time given by mentors who are out of work or on short freelance contracts, but mostly do not anticipate the mentoring being paid. Mentoring is an opportunity for senior leaders to develop their own leadership skills and gain new perspectives as well as supporting an emerging leader.*

If you would like to mentor one of our emerging Development Producers, and offer your expert guidance and insight, we would love to hear from you! Just click the button below to email the team and register your interest.
