The ScreenSkills High-end TV Skills Fund is offering free online CV building workshops delivered by Alison Grade.

These sessions aim to empower individuals who wish to enter the high-end TV industry, with the aim to position them in the best way possible when writing their CVs and approaching employers.

Who is it for?

This session is aimed at new entrants in the high-end TV industry who would like advice on where to start and in particular CV advice.

What it covers

During this workshop, the attendees will find out:

  • What do high-end TV employers want to see?
  • What problem can you solve for the hirer?
  • CV good practice
  • Cover emails – dos and don’ts
  • Role of portfolios to support CV
  • The link between online presence and CV
  • Value of building a relationships

This one-hour session will be delivered via Zoom. Places on these free online sessions are limited and are often highly competitive.

The speaker

Alison Grade describes her key skill as transforming creative ideas into a business reality. She accomplishes this with the films she produces, the creative entrepreneurs she mentors, SMEs and freelancers she advises and in her Penguin published book, The Freelance Bible.

Alison has an unique skillset in that she has formal academic training (INSEAD MBA), has worked at senior level in many media companies, is an entrepreneur who has established several businesses and is a Nesta accredited Creative Enterprise trainer and mentor. She currently sits on the Creative Industries Federation UK Council as well as the Digital Leadership Board for the Centre for New Midlands. She brings her passion, knowledge and experience with her in all the work she does.
